Plano Sports Authority Volleyball

Attention:  PSA is always striving to put forth the best possible programs for our players.  In keeping with this, we have made the decision not to have a Power League program this Spring.  Power League will resume again in the Fall when the coaches will not be so heavily involved in their club season.

If your daughter did not register for the Spring PSA Volleyball Season and would still like to, we will take your registration and make every attempt to place them on a team.  Our apologies for any inconvenience this change may cause.

PSA POWER LEAGUE

SPRING 2008

SEASON INFORMATION

____________________________

What is PSA Power League?  The PSA Power League was created to provide volleyball players the ability to play at a higher competition level without the club commitment and expense.  The spring season league offers certified paid coaches, a uniform package, intra-squad games, extended practice time and the possibility of playing in a local USAV sanctioned tournament.

To be placed on a PSA Power League team, a player must go through the tryout process.  Players will be put through a series of drills to evaluate their skill level.  Coaches will select players based on potential, athletic ability, and attitude.  Offers will be given and teams filled at tryouts.  Parents should be prepared to either accept or decline the offer at time of tryouts.  Accepting the offer will include making initial payment or paying the fee amount in full.  If a player is not selected for a PSA Power League team, she is encouraged to register and play for a PSA Volleyball team.

General Information:

Each team will:

  • Practice once a week for two hours at the PSA StarCenter.  Practice days will be scheduled on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  Practice times will either be 6:00pm to 8:00pm or 8:00pm to 10:00pm.  These days and times will be scheduled according to the coach's request.
  • Play six matches during the course of the season.
  • Have an Impact certified coach.  Impact Certification is granted by USVBA, United States Volleyball Association, after a coach has sucessfully completed a training course.
